FAQs

01 How Do I Get To Balvonie House

Balvonie is less than an hour from Glasgow Airport. There is also a direct train from Glasgow Central Station to Wemyss Bay and from there a very short taxi journey up the hill to Balvonie.

There are regular rail services from London Kings Cross to Glasgow Central Station. We can arrange a taxi or private bus if you would like to be collected from the station or the airport.

Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Prestwick Airport both offer private jet terminals, roughly equi-distant from Balvonie.

03 Can I Bring MY DOgs

We know that your dogs are often an important part of the family. We are happy to accommodate up to 2 dogs on the assumption that you will bring their own bedding.

Please bear in mind that our garden is not fully enclosed and semi-wild in parts so any dogs would have to be kept on a lead or have perfect recall.

02 How Far Ahead Should I Book?

We would recommend that you book your stay as soon as your dates are confirmed. We regular take bookings up to a year in advance but we do also have occassional last minute availability.

04 CAN YOU ARRANGE AN ITINERARY?

Many of our guests wish to explore the surrounding areas which we are more than happy to organise. We can arrange many different activities for you and your guests to take part in on and off the property. These include but are not limited to: golfing, sailing, archery, fishing, spa days, various hands-on creative workshops, in-house whisky tastings, gin and whisky distillery tastings and tours, castle visits, murder mystery nights and many other day trips both on and off the water.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay at the stunning Balvonie House for my daughter's Hen Do. All bedrooms were lovely, Dining room was able to seat 24 of us at the long table, Living Room is so spacious and comfortable, Kitchen is large and very well equipped. Cinema room was great, Hot tub was well used even in February. View is stunning and the grounds are well-kept and most of our party managed a wine walk. Duncan met us and gave a tour of the house and explained everything to us on arrival, very helpful. I had actually left something behind and Duncan dropped it off at my home, above and beyond. Would highly recommend Balvonie House, suitable for all age groups.
