Many of our guests wish to explore the surrounding area, and we are more than happy to facilitate a range of activities and experiences both on and off the property. These can include golfing, sailing, archery, fishing, spa days, hands-on creative workshops, in-house whisky tastings, gin and whisky distillery tastings and tours, castle visits, murder mystery evenings, and a variety of day trips on land and water.

While we don’t arrange catering directly, we’re happy to introduce you to local caterers who can help create the perfect menu for your celebration. You can then liaise with them directly to tailor the catering to your needs.
Can I bring my dog?
Up to two dogs are welcome at Balvonie, subject to the house rules. Please bring your dogs’ own bedding, as dogs are not permitted on the furniture. The grounds are not fully enclosed, so dogs should be kept on a lead unless they have reliable recall.
How do I get to Balvonie House without a car?
You can travel by train from Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay, followed by a short taxi journey. Private transfers can also be arranged.
